An incident happened in the parking lot of the Lithia Spring Thursday night, Aug. 1, where four teenagers were injured, three of them seriously. The Lithia Spring is off 13th Street in Steamboat Springs.
Steamboat Springs Police Chief Mark Beckett says the call came in just after 10 p.m. A group of juveniles were “hanging out” in the Lithia Spring parking lot when a vehicle driven by one of the juveniles hit four people, three of them seriously.
Chief Beckett says one of the juveniles was flown out to a hospital on the Front Range in serious condition. The two others who were run over were 18 years old and they were taken to the hospital in Steamboat Springs with severe injuries.
A fourth person who was hit had minor injuries.
Chief Beckett says the alleged driver turned themselves in this morning and that person is a juvenile. Chief Beckett says there will be multiple charges.
Police have been at the scene today. Officials believe alcohol and other substances are a factor.

Four Injured During Vehicle Incident At Lithia Springs
Juvenile Driver Charged With Several Crimes Related To Incident
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-August 2, 2024-The Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue (SSFR) responded to the Lithia Springs parking lot late in the evening of Thursday, August 1, in reference to a group of people who were struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located four injured people, including two juveniles. Three of the individuals sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle driven by a known party. None of the injuries appear life threatening at this time.
SSPD officers contacted the juvenile driver of the vehicle involved a short time later. While the investigation is ongoing, the driver of the vehicle is being charged with several serious crimes related to this incident. Officials believe alcohol and other substances are a factor.
SSPD reminds our community teens and parents that the consumption of alcohol and other substances while driving is illegal and violations of this are not only treated seriously but can often have serious, lifechanging consequences.
All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
