There will be delays on Hwy 40 between Hayden and Steamboat Springs for most of the day today. CDOT crews are removing the wreckage of that semi-truck that went over the edge of the highway at Mount Harris Canyon last month. This is about eight miles east of Hayden. Delays will be between 20 and 30 minutes. One lane will be closed for most of the day and then both lanes will be closed when they get the truck back up on the road. The recovery should last six to seven hours, after starting around 9 a.m.

Today is the first day of school for all students in the Steamboat Springs School District. It’s also the first day of school for the SoRoCo school district in South Routt. Hayden started yesterday and Moffat County started last week.
There is a new exhibit at the Museum of Northwest Colorado in Craig. It’s called “The Graveyard of Buoyant Hopes,” with watercolors and photographs specializing in ghost towns in the Old West.
The Museum of Northwest Colorado is also trying to update their collection of class rings from Moffat County High School and before when it was Craig High School. They have 42 rings right now. They have a list of the rings they need, from which years, if you can help. The museum is on Yampa Ave. in Craig.

The Steamboat ‘Boat Cruise is this weekend. Teams are riding their bikes for 24 hours, to raise money for the Early Childhood Program with Integrated Communities. Those teams are looking for sponsors and they would love your help, whether supporting teams or individuals. The Ski Town USA Morning Rotary Club has asked that you especially support their team! That link is on the Community Calendar on our website.
