Colorado Parks and Wildlife has announced that another wolf has died in Grand County. The death is unrelated to the Copper Creek Pack, in which the adult male in that pack also recently died. CPW confirms that the wolf is one of the ten wolves reintroduced in December. They have not released any details on how the wolf died.

The South Routt School District has again been named a District of Distinction, for the second year in a row. Here is Superintendent Kirk Henwood.
“And it just means that a lot of the hard work and systems we’re putting into place to make the educational experience for our students better is working and we’re just really excited to continue to work hard to become the best small school district in the state of Colorado.”
Henwood says this year’s award winners represent the top 9% of districts in Colorado.

Run Rabbit Run ultramarathon is happening through Saturday night. This is a 50 and 100-mile run charity event in Steamboat Springs and Routt County.

Cattle Dog Trials are at Romick Rodeo Arena from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It’s free to watch the dogs and their handlers competing.
There is a fundraiser on Sunday for the Milner Mobile Home Park. It’s called SOS – Saving Our Steamboat One Neighborhood at a Time. It’s from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Schmiggitys in Steamboat Springs.

It’s Homecoming weekend for the Steamboat Sailors. The Homecoming parade is at 1:40 p.m. today.

The Sailors Cross Country team is at a meet today in Coal Ridge today.
The Hayden Tigers Football team plays at home at 1 p.m. Saturday against Dayspring Christian.

The Moffat County Bulldogs are off this weekend but it is Moms Night, at 4:45 p.m. today at the practice field.

Steamboat skiers have been named to the U.S. Ski Teams. First Alpine, Jett Seymour is on the B Team. Tatum Grosdidier is on the women’s C Team. The Men’s C Team has Cooper Puckett and Jay Poulter. The first World Cup is in Austria at the end of October.
