The Bike Match program continues to provide bikes to those who need it in the community, thanks to Routt County Riders. The Bike Match program started back in May of 2021 as a way for residents who no longer want or use their bikes to give them to someone who needs a bike.
Those donated bikes are fixed up in the Routt County Riders Community Bike Shop, to then be given away. The current count is at 534 bikes with about 100 of those this summer. Many have been given to kids in the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado.
This summer, RCR had two interns who helped learn how to tune up bikes and get them ready for donation. They are Rowan Hanaughan (han-uh-gan) from Steamboat Springs High School and Cash DelliQuadri from SoRoCo.
To find out more about the program, or to request a bike, email Matthew@RouttCountyRiders.org
Or you can drop by the Routt County Riders Shop at 2730 Downhill Plaza, Unit 105a. Hours are 5-7 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays.
