The Stearns Fire in Craig has been contained thanks to rain in the area. But smoke and ash clouds will still be visible over the next few days. The Stearns Fire was at the Cedar Mountain Recreation Area outside of Craig. A BLM spokesperson says it burned just over eight acres. The fire is being investigated. Call the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office if you have any information. That number is (970) 824-4495.
Bears are out and about right now, looking for food. The city is seeing an increase of bear activity before winter. Here are some pictures of what bears can do.
Do not leave your trash cans unlocked and out overnight. You have to put them out the morning of trash day.
Car photos are courtesy photos.
Lock your car doors, lock your truck doors, lock your garage doors and the doors to your home.
Talk to your friends and neighbors and remind them to do this as well. If you have new neighbors in your neighborhood, introduce yourself and let them know the rules about trash and to lock your doors.
And if you see a bear near your home, yell at it to scare it away. Bears will be bears. People are the solution. Be Bear Aware.
CPW reminds people to remain bear aware this fall as bears become more active
