The Department of Agriculture is collaborating with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the CSU Extension Office, and Wildlife Services to host two meetings a month, primarily with agriculture producers, to answer questions they may have regarding how to handle encounters with wolves.

There is a meeting today (Friday, Sept. 27) in Grand County.

At a meeting in Jackson County on Thursday, no producers showed up.

The hosts stressed that they want to work together with unified messaging going forward.

Meetings are scheduled for Moffat County on Oct. 22 and Routt County on Oct. 23. No more details on what time and where.

The Routt County Humane Society sends word that the Fast & Furriest 5K-9 and Tennis Ball drop raised over $17,000. Thank you to the 100 runners and walkers and proud pups who participated.

The Hayden Town Council Candidate Forum heard from five candidates running for six spots, at the Hayden Center last night. They’re on the ballot in November.

 

 

The Steamboat Art Museum has the Plein Art 2024 Exhibition and Sale on Display today through Nov. 2. Fifty artists have painted the splendor of fall in the Yampa Valley.

A “Wild about Wellness” Children’s Health Fair is until 12:30 p.m. today. It is free for kids five and younger, at the LDS Church in Craig.

 

Routt County Search & Rescue is having a fundraiser at Mountain Tap Brewery from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. It’s a Live Print event with Ohana. Mountain Tap is at 9th and Yampa in Steamboat Springs.

 

Broadway Comes to the ‘Boat tonight with Seasons of Love, a choir concert presented by the Steamboat Chamber singers, the Yampa Valley Singers, St. Paul’s Choir, and the choir from Heart of Steamboat Methodist Church. Vincent Johns-Lee is the music minister at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Steamboat Dance Theatre presents their first ever Local Dance Collective at Strings, tonight and tomorrow. It’s all of the local dance studios and artists performing for a benefit for Steamboat Dance Theatre. You can get tickets at the door.

Saturday is Town Clean-Up Day in the Town of Yampa. Residents can get rid of two loads of trash or metal at $10 per load. Bring proof of residency. There is an extra charge for some items.

 

The Senior Social Center of Craig is presenting a “Better with Age” Wine Tasting/Art Show. It’s from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Yampa Building in Craig.

 

In sports,

The Sailors Soccer team beat Vail Mountain School last night, 3-2. Henry Jamison had the game winner.

The undefeated Steamboat Sailors football team is at Summit High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Listen to the game through our website.

Moffat County High School is hosting an invitational track meet Saturday and the Steamboat Sailors and Soroco will be there.

Also on Saturday, the Sailors boys soccer team plays Battle Mountain AWAY at 11 a.m.

Right after that, is the CU Buffaloes game, and you can listen to both of those on KTYV 105.7 and 97.7 Sports on FM and through our website.

The Hayden Tigers football team is away tonight against Lake County. The Moffat County Bulldogs and Soroco Rams have the weekend off.
