The Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Colorado is launching a new high school programming event series. Friday night’s fun is a Matball Tournament with lots of prizes. These are free, open to all high schoolers. Friday night events are from 7-10 p.m. and Saturday night Open Gym events are from 5-8 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club in Steamboat Springs. This is all happening at the Boys & Girls Club Gym at 8th and Pine in Steamboat Springs. Parent volunteers are also needed to help staff. More information
It’s Homecoming Week for the Moffat County Bulldogs. The Homecoming Parade is at 1 p.m. Friday. Friday night is the Homecoming Football Game for Moffat County. The Bulldogs are playing Coal Ridge. Here’s Senior Cody Dade.

The Steamboat Springs High School Boys Tennis team is headed to regionals this weekend, in Grand Junction. Here’s head coach Jason Scicchitano.
“The team is looking really good going into regionals. I’m really looking to see if we can do some damage.”
There are 20 players on the team, with 11 on Varsity and they’re the ones competing at regionals.
Last weekend, the Sailors who play in the 2A Division beat Ponderosa High School, 6-1, for the first time in at least three years. Ponderosa is a 5A School.

A Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 5. Routt County Department of Environmental Health is coordinating the event at Steamboat Springs Middle School. This is for paint, pesticides, aerosols and other flammables and household cleaners. This is NOT for mattresses and electronics.
The 17th Annual Mustache Ride is Saturday, Oct. 5. Grab a crazy costume and meet at the top of Laurel Lane at 2:15 p.m. to start the ride around town. Or you can meet at the Storm Peak Brewing Bus Stop on Village Drive at 3 p.m. There is a cost for the Mustache Ride which benefits the Routt County Humane Society. There are also big prizes.
The Hayden Heritage Center Museum hosts a dinner and history show called “Echoes of the Past.” It’s their annual fundraiser. There are two walking tours at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. It’s $20 per person that the ticket includes dinner and the tour. The American Legion will be on hand with burgers. The Hayden High School Drama Department will also be there. Stop in at the museum or go to HaydenHeritageCenter.org for information on how to purchase tickets.
Watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show screening with a LIVE Shadowcast at Snow Bowl Steamboat. The show starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. This will be outside at Snow Bowl so dress warmly and bring a chair.
The 4th Annual Octoberfest at Haven Assisted Living in Hayden is Sunday afternoon, Oct. 6. It’s a family-friendly event on the back patio at the Haven, from 3:30-6 p.m. There will be live music from Apple Pie and A Guy, beer from Yampa Valley Brewing, food from the American Legion, a silent auction, pumpkin painting and more. All proceeds benefit The Haven which is a non-profit, assisted living community for adults 55 and older. Tickets are available at HavenSeniorLiving.org/Octoberfest.
Ticket prices include a meal, one beverage and all activities.

The Little Snake River Museum in Savery, Wyoming, has a Fall Festival from 2-4 p.m. this Sunday afternoon with games, crafts, sweets, and trick-or-treating.
Monday morning is Kites for Peace, remembering and mourning the victims of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Coffee and kite making starts at 8 a.m. at Whistler Park. This is hosted by local organizations including Steamboat Police, STAND (Steamboat Team to disrupt Antisemitism and Discrimination), and Har Mishpacha the Jewish Congregation of Steamboat.
