Local veterans met with a group of nine 5th graders at Strawberry Park Elementary in Steamboat Springs Wednesday. The students are interviewing the veterans about their time in the military so they can learn about their story.
Teagan is one of those 5th graders, who had another purpose of being there.
“I’m really interested in the Navy, and the Air Force, and the Space Force and I want to join it one day.”
The students will write a paper on the veteran they met and will give a speech to the school on Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11.
