The Moffat County Clerk’s office is working to fix a printing error on ballots that is keeping them from being scanned properly. It will take extra work but the local office wants to reassure everyone that all votes in Moffat County will be properly counted. Here’s Moffat County Clerk and Recorder Stacy Morgan.
“I want to reiterate that all your votes will be counted exactly how you intended.”
Do not throw away your ballot. Still fill it out and drop it off in the secure dropbox at the Moffat County Courthouse. Voters can also vote in person there.
Morgan says her staff, and the bipartisan election judges will be strictly following election rules. Additional bipartisan judges are needed, if you can help.
Morgan has told the printing vendor that she expects them to reimburse Moffat County for the bad printing, extra work for staff and other supply costs because of their error.

The Routt County Elections Team has sent some reminders. Expect closures and detours around downtown county buildings on Halloween night. It will be busy. Also, it is never OK to sign someone else’s ballot, even if they give you permission, like a college student who is away. The signature will be rejected and will remain uncured until after the election when it will be turned over to the District Attorney’s office. Make sure to return both pages of the ballot in Routt County. If you vote on a machine, there is a 15-minute time limit.
