Moffat County Clerk and Recorder Stacy Morgan has released an update on the 2024 General Election. As of 8 a.m. Monday, more than 3,800 ballots have been received, both by mail and in-person. They have been verified.
Morgan says the Moffat County bi-partisan election judges worked over the weekend to replicate those paper ballots that were impacted due to a print vendor error. The process is labor intensive and requires a “triple review and audit to ensure every voter’s ballot vote is counted accurately as they intended.”
You may vote in person from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Moffat County Courthouse. Ballots can also be dropped off at the 24-hour drop box in front of the courthouse which is at 1198 W. Victory Way in Craig. Hours on Tuesday are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when the polls close. Late ballots will not be counted.
Morgan encourages that voters drop off their ballots today instead of waiting until the last minute.
Finally, Monday’s press release says, “Clerk and Recorder Stacy Morgan is grateful for the support of the Board of County Commissioners for their leadership, the Republican and Democratic party that have helped to recruit and appoint bi-partisan teams, and the voters for patience and enthusiasm voting their ballots this year.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Election officials release today’s Moffat County Clerk and Recorder Update
Craig, Colorado November4, 2024 – Today, Moffat County Clerk Stacy Morgan released the latest update for the 2024 general election.
Elections are often “called” before all ballots are counted. This doesn’t mean that counting stops. As of 8:00 a.m. today, Moffat County had received more than 3800 mail and in-person ballots. More than 3400 returned their mail ballot and 405 voted have voted in person. These ballots have been verified and are in process.
Moffat County bi-partisan election judge teams and Clerk Morgan’s staff has worked tirelessly every day and through the weekend to replicate impacted voter’s paper ballots due to the print vendor error discovered. This process is labor-intensive and requires triple review and audit to ensure every voter’s ballot vote is counted accurately as they intended. Duplication teams have processed more than 3,100 ballots. The public post-election audit will validate that the process is accurate.
Voting is open for in-person voting from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. today at the Moffat County Courthouse at 1198 W. Victory Way in Craig. Voters may drop off their ballots at the courthouse during business hours today or at the 24-hour drop box. Election Day is tomorrow and voters may vote or drop off ballots from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until close of polls. Colorado is a ballot in-hand state so late ballots will not be counted.
If the mail ballot return rate for this election is similar to the last presidential election, approximately 3,600 more mail ballots are likely to be returned. We encourage voters to consider dropping off their ballots today and not wait until the last minute to support more timely unofficial results that will begin posting after the polls close. If most voters vote after 4:00 p.m. on Election Day, election judges will likely be working throughout the week.
Clerk and Recorder Stacy Morgan is grateful for the support of the Board of County Commissioners for their leadership, the Republican and Democratic party that have helped to recruit and appoint bi-partisan teams, and the voters for patience and enthusiasm voting their ballots this year.
