The man who died Tuesday night in the three-vehicle crash on Highway 40 has been identified as 38-year-old Daniel Sundar-Baker of Craig. He was the Parts Director with Cook Chevrolet. The dealership says he was a devoted husband and father of four children. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
Two Routt County residents were honored by the Tread of Pioneers Museum Tuesday night. Winnie DelliQuadri received the annual Leckenby Award for being a volunteer, for inspiring youth, and for her contributions to the community.
The Larson Award Award winner is honored posthumously. Irlan W. Neas was a county resident since 1948 and died at the age of 82 in 2012. He worked in the banking industry for 63 years, and also served six years as the mayor of Steamboat Springs. One thing he made sure happened was getting Oak Street paved and then 7th Street for a paved route to the old high school.

The Forest Service will be burning slash piles in the next few weeks and months, in the Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests. It will depend on the weather, but you will see smoke. Slash piles are also being burned in the White River National Forest and BLM lands in Eagle, Garfield and Summit counties.

Hayden Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Agenda items include the review of appointing Andrea Salazar as Finance Director, and also the review and consideration for Approval of the Construction Nuisance Ordinance Community Workgroup.
Veterans will be at Steamboat Christian Academy to honor Veterans Day Friday morning. That’s at the Steamboat Christian Center. Veterans will then be at Casey’s Pond at 10 a.m. to visit with veterans there.
All students in the SoRoCo School District gathered for the all-district picture Wednesday. Superintendent Kirk Henwood said it was also to celebrate “Attitude of Gratitude” and a mindset of “It’s a good day for a good day.”
“And we’re highlighting things like the Veterans Day assembly, the fire department visiting the pre-school, our Rams Profile of a graduate. All around again, it’s a good day for a good day in keeping a positive attitude.”
Then the elementary school students from South Routt Elementary in Yampa practiced their last night’s big concert song with the high school band.
Music Director Kelli Turnipseed is the Music Director for the school district led the band and young singers.
