Oak Street, between 9th and 11th Streets will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Cranes will be placing the generator assembly for the new Downtown Fire Station.
The closure is from 8:30 a.m. through around 5 p.m. Local access will be available to the businesses there.
Completion of the new City Hall/Downtown Fire Station is on schedule and on budget, and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Oak Street Closed Between 9th to 11th On Wednesday, Nov. 13
Large Crane Places 41,000 lbs Generator Assembly For New Downtown Fire Station
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-November 6, 2024-Drivers that frequently use Oak Street between 9th & 11th Streets will need to find a new route on November 13, when RMS Cranes places the generator assembly for the new Downtown Fire Station. Oak Street will be closed on Wednesday starting at 8:30am and is anticipated to reopen by 5pm that same day.
Oak Street between 10th to 11th Streets will see a complete closure for the crane and safety zone. The closure starts at 8:30am after the morning commute and school schedule. The project team anticipates the closure to be lifted by 5pm.
Local access to businesses on Oak Street between 9th and10th including city hall, the parking lot, on-street parking, and the one-way alley north of the road will be available throughout the day. Detours will be set up with signage informing motorist of alternative routes.
The new Fire Station & City Hall project will not only transform a two-block section of downtown into a civic campus, but also how the city works together and does business with the community. Located on 10th Street between Oak & Lincoln, the municipal campus will redefine municipal services bringing modern technologies and efficiencies for the benefit of residents across the city for decades to come.
The City Hall/Downtown Fire Station project remains on schedule and budget with completion anticipated before the end of the year.
