Yampa Valley Community Foundation has announced the sale of the Milner Mobile Home Park. It’s under contract, after being purchased by a co-op homeowner group with the help of a philanthropic loan. The offer of $7.75 million was accepted for the purchase of the park, which was for sale. The 40 owners of the homes owned the buildings, but not the land where the homes sit which created uncertainty about the future, since the owner of the land announced it was for sale.

Donations to support this and other workforce housing preservation efforts can be made to YVCF’s Workforce Housing Preservation Fund at: https://yvcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate. To learn more about YVCF’s Impact Investing program: https://yvcf.org/impact-investing/

The community of Milner is having a fundraiser to help with this purchase. They’re hosting a breakfast and lunch Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Pancakes and sausage start at 8:30 a.m. Homemade tamales, rice and beans is afterwards for lunch. All are invited and all money raised goes to the reserve fund for the Milner community. For questions, contact MilnerParkCommunity@gmail.com
