
The Rocky Mountain Freestyle Season Opener was Saturday at Howelsen Hill. Shane Mariano took the men’s overall title. For the women, Anabel Ayad was second and Mia Satkiewicz was third overall for the women.

SSWSC Mogul Athletes Dominate at Howelsen Hill at the Rocky Mountain Freestyle season opener mogul competition
Shane Mariano takes the Men’s Overall Title, Anabel Ayad is 2nd and Mia Satkiewicz is 3rd for the Women
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – It was an action-packed day on Saturday at Howelsen Hill, with the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Ski Town USA season opener mogul competition during the day and the finale under the lights. Crowds came out in force to cheer on the athletes. SSWSC athletes dominated on their home hill, with Shane Mariano taking the overall title for the men’s competition, showcasing his skills with a fast time and mute grab on the top jump and back X on the bottom. Liam Siefken was also on the podium with a 2nd place overall for the men. For the women, Anabel Ayad was second overall, and teammate Mia Satkiewicz was 3rd.
SSWSC athletes also had multiple age-group podiums, including Liam Siefken 1st U19 (2nd overall) and Jack Perkins 3rd U19 (6th overall), Shane Mariano was 1st U17 (1st overall), Cole Anderson was 2nd U15 (15th overall), Mia Satkiewicz was 2nd U19 (3rd overall), Reise Wilson was 2nd U17 (5th overall) and Anouk Bradley was 3rd (11th overall) Sydney Soard was 1st U15 (8th overall).
Peyton Billeisen also had an outstanding performance, 4th place overall, in his first competition back from knee surgery in 2023. Griffin Harvey also had an incredible night, narrowly missing the highly competitive U17 podium, landing in 4th place U17 (14th overall). Other SSWSC finishers were Lyllah Miller 5th U17 (15th overall), Finley Fontaine 7th U17 (17th overall), Scotty Kane 7th U19 (12th overall), and Henry Crump 13th U19 (31st overall).
