The two men accused of stealing large amounts of fuel from the Pilot gas station on 13th Street in Steamboat Springs, are still in the Routt County Jail. Both Osnel Perez Palacio and David Caboverde are being held on $15K bond each. They were arrested last Thursday. A special assignment team with Steamboat Springs Police had known fuel was being stolen. Over $30K worth of fuel was stolen. So they were on the lookout for suspects. Police Commander Rich Brown said a box truck stayed at the gas station for an unusually long amount of time so it was stopped by an officer. Perez-Palacio and Caboverde were arrested, and Brown said they gave fictitious IDs. Perez-Palicio is in court this afternoon. Caboverde has a bond hearing next Tuesday.
