Three Steamboat Springs students have qualified for the National Thescon competition, which is for drama students. They won Thespy awards at last weekend’s Thescon competition in Colorado.
Ruby Frank and Emma Griffith made it as a singing duet from the musical “Bonnie and Clyde.” Ruby is a senior at Yampa Valley High School. It’s her fourth year qualifying for nationals.
“It’s really cool to see where we stand on a state level. I think it really reflects on the work we put into what we do, to not only know that we do this in Steamboat, but here is what we do statewide, and even on a national level.”
Griffith is a sophomore at SSHS. This is her second year qualifying for the national competition.
Also qualifying for the national competition is Sam Berliant who is a sophomore at Steamboat springs High School. He qualified in technical prop making.
The national Thescon competition is in Indiana next summer.
