Christmas Tree Recycling continues at Emerald Park, in the parking lot there by the soccer fields and Yampa River Botanic Garden. It’s free to drop off your Christmas tree in the northwest corner of the Emerald Park parking lot through the end of February. The trees will be mulched up and folks can use the mulch in their yards in the spring. Please remove all tinsel, ornaments, lights, nails, etc. Please NO WREATHS. Drop off is free, seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset.

Free Christmas Tree Recycling Returns to Emerald Park
Drop Off Trees Just Like You Found Them – Au Naturale
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-December 19, 2023-Emerald Park will again serve as the location for the city’s free Christmas Tree Recycling program for roughly the next two months. The eco-program is a partnership between Parks & Recreation and SavATree.
“This location provides an easy and convenient location to drop off Christmas trees across the community,” said Parks Supervisor Johannes Thorsen. “With more than 2,000 trees recycled annually, the program continues to be strongly supported by the community and ensures these trees don’t go to waste.”
The drop off location for the free Christmas Tree Recycling is in Emerald Park, which provides significant space to collect, process and store mulch.
Safely dispose of your natural Christmas tree for free starting Friday, December 22 (for those that celebrated Xmas early) and running through the end of February.
Trees can be dropped off in Emerald Park parking lot, accessible from US40 via Emerald Park Lane or Ski Town Way. The collection site is on the pavement in the southwest corner of the parking.
Drop off is available seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. The city will take it just like you found it – AU NATURALE. That means all tinsel, ornaments, lights, nails, etc., must be removed before dropping off. NO WREATHS accepted.
“When you harvest a tree from the forest, you’re helping improve forest health by thinning crowded areas,” continued Thorsen. “We can take that even further by recycling your tree and allowing it to continue to give long after the holidays. We hope everyone takes advantage of this complimentary community service no matter where you got your tree.”
As in the previous year, SavATree will make the mulch generated from this event available free of charge to residents on a first come, first serve basis in the spring at their yard, located at 2645 Jacob Circle, Unit #1.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-16 de diciembre de 2024-El Parque Esmeralda volverá a ser el lugar donde se lleve a cabo el programa gratuito de Reciclaje de Árboles de Navidad de la ciudad durante aproximadamente los próximos dos meses. El programa ecológico es una asociación entre Parques y Actividades Recreativas y SavATree.
«Este lugar ofrece una ubicación fácil y cómoda para dejar los árboles de Navidad en toda la comunidad», dijo el Supervisor de Parques Johannes Thorsen. «Con más de 2.000 árboles reciclados al año, el programa sigue contando con el firme apoyo de la comunidad y garantiza que estos árboles no se desperdicien».
El lugar donde se deposita el reciclaje gratuito de árboles de Navidad es el Parque Esmeralda, que ofrece un espacio considerable para recoger, procesar y almacenar el mantillo.
Deshazte de tu árbol de Navidad natural de forma segura y gratuita a partir del viernes 20 de diciembre (para los que celebraron la Navidad antes) y hasta finales de febrero.
Los árboles pueden dejarse en el aparcamiento de Emerald Park, accesible desde la US40 por Emerald Park Lane o Ski Town Way. El lugar de recogida está en la acera, en la esquina suroeste del aparcamiento.
La recogida está disponible los siete días de la semana, desde el amanecer hasta el anochecer. La ciudad se lo llevará tal y como lo encontraste: AU NATURALE. Eso significa que hay que quitar todos los oropeles, adornos, luces, clavos, etc., antes de depositarlo. NO SE ACEPTAN RAÍCES.
«Cuando recoges un árbol del bosque, estás ayudando a mejorar la salud forestal al ralear las zonas abarrotadas», continuó Thorsen. «Podemos llevarlo aún más lejos reciclando tu árbol y permitiendo que siga dando mucho después de las fiestas. Esperamos que todo el mundo aproveche este servicio comunitario gratuito, independientemente de dónde haya comprado su árbol.»
Como el año pasado, SavATree pondrá gratuitamente a disposición de los residentes el mantillo generado en este acto, por orden de llegada, en primavera, en su patio, situado en el 2645 de Jacob Circle, Unidad nº 1.
