A new band is releasing their new album Saturday night at Old Town Pub. The band is a southern rock country band called “Alan Duty and the Lost Rangers.” Ryan Hoffman, Alan Duty, and Darren Halik are all graduates of Steamboat Springs High School and the met playing hockey for the Sailors. Here’s Darren.
“Alan and I met when he was 14 and I was 15 playing JV hockey at SSHS and then Ryan and I met dressing in the parking because it was COVID at the ice rink. That would have been my junior year, his senior year.”
That’s when they all found out they liked Texas country music so they formed the band. The fourth member, Drew Turnipseed, is from Mobile, Alabama.
Alan and Drew go to Auburn in Alabama, Ryan goes to Montana State, and Darren studies at The Blackbird Academy in Nashville.
The band is together four months out of the year during the holidays and summers in Steamboat Springs.
Their debut album is called “Nicotine and Daydreams.”
The band is at Old Town Pub Saturday and then Slopeside on Jan. 6.
