Steamboat Springs High School Volleyball Coach Wendy Hall will be inducted into the 2025 Hall of Fame in the Colorado High School Coaches Association.
Hall has been the head coach of the volleyball team at SSHS since 1989.
“It’s a huge, huge honor that, they kind of look over here on the western side of the hill, to select somebody who has never won a state championship, I think they see more to it, I guess, than that, which is wonderful. But it’s not just about me. It’s about so many athletes over the years, and so many parents of athletes, and so many assistant coaches that have built this program to what it is today, and I think it’s an honor for anybody who has ever been a part of the program, for sure.”
Wendy Hall is also a Steamboat Sailor, having graduated from SSHS in 1982.
Under Hall’s tenure, the Sailors have won 566 matches and lost 294, with eight appearances at the state tournament. Nineteen SSHS volleyball players have played in college with three playing on a professional level internationally.
The banquet hosted by the Colorado High School Coaches Association is April 14 in Parker, Colo.
This is the 61st class to be inducted. The class includes: Pat Callahan, Wendy Hall, Doug Hugill, Penny Isenbart, Al Lear, Andy Lowry, Ken Niven, and Rich Yonker. The group includes three football coaches, two volleyball coaches, one soccer coach, one cross country/track & field coach, and one basketball coach.
