Steamboat’s Cody Winters has finished third, taking the bronze medal in World Cup Slalom in Austria. It’s Cody’s first World Cup podium after five 4th place finishes.

This is the first podium finish in Snowboard Alpine for Team USA since Justin Reiter (USA) in Moscow in 2015.
The U.S. team competes in Mixed parallel today at Bad Gastein, Austria. Then Cody and team are off to Bansko, Bulgaria, Jan. 18-19 for more World Cup competitions.

Anabel Ayad with Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club won the bronze medal in Dual Moguls Mixed Team with teammate Chase Littlefield at the 2025 FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Kazakhstan. Ayad graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2023 and has been attending classes at the University of Utah in the fall and skiing in the winter.
SSWSC alumnae Abby McLarnon also had top finishes, with a 4th in singles, 3rd in duals, and sixth in the team competition.

SSWSC athlete Anabel Ayad wins Bronze with US Teammate Chase Littlefield in the Dual Moguls Mixed Team Event at Junior World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2025 FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships wrapped up last week in Almaty, Kazakhstan, after five days of competition showcasing the future of freestyle skiing with Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athlete Anabel Ayad and SSWSC alumnae Abby McLarnon representing the US on the women’s team. The Junior World Championships were held from January 7–11 at Shymbulak Ski Resort.
Ayad’s top-notch skiing at US Selections in December qualified her for the chance of a lifetime to compete in the Freestyle Junior World Championships. Ayad and 11 junior athletes from the USA spent six days in the beautiful mountain of Kazakhstan competing against top junior athletes from around the world to compete in moguls, dual moguls, dual moguls mixed team, aerials, and aerials mixed team events. Ayad skied in the three mogul events and took full advantage of the opportunity, finishing 6th place in single moguls, narrowly missing the podium with a 4th place in dual moguls, and nabbing a bronze medal 3rd place finish in the dual moguls mixed team event with teammate Chase Littlefield.
SSWSC alumnae Abby McLarnon finished 4th in singles, 3rd place in duals, and sixth place in team duals.
