Here is a look at the preliminary plan for the proposed Craig Business Park. It covers 25 acres. A grant for just over $1 million was awarded to the City of Craig to purchase the property for a new business and industrial park, through the Office of Just Transition.
The park will be developed in phases, with initial infrastructure improvements funded through a $2.5 million Congressionally Designated Spending (CDS) grant which was received last year.
Craig City Manager Peter Brixius says the City plans to continue building out the park as prepared parcels are sold to future developers and businesses.
The selected Master Planner will work closely with the City to design, plan, and guide the park’s phased development to make sure it meets short- and long-term goals.
Brixius adds that the final plan should accommodate various types of businesses, such as “office spaces, and distribution centers, while also considering future adaptability.”
Brixius also said the Union Pacific rail line will be at the north end of the park with parcels offering the possibility of rail access.
