STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club has announced that 13 U18 alpine athletes have qualified to compete in the U18 National Alpine Championships in Aspen, Colorado, February 25-March 3, 2025. Logan Grosdidier, Abby Olson, Caley Goforth, Bella Fisher, Hazel Fernley, Rewani Shrestha, and Kat Cosby qualified for the women, and Adrian Beauregard, Caman Beauregard, Nicholas Bradford, Willem Bradford, and Owen Wither qualified for the men (Matthew Kafka will compete in super-G and downhill races only). Logan Grosdidier and Abby Olson automatically qualified based on their results from the NorAm Cup. Grosdidier will not compete in the U18 National Championships because she is headed to the 2025 Junior World Championships in Italy during the same time period, and Hazel Fernley and Kat Cosby will not compete due to injury.
Qualifiers took place in January, with two super-G races on Vail Mountain on January 20 and two giant slalom races on Vail Mountain on January 18 and 19, and three slalom races at Lutsen Mountains Resort in Minnesota on February 7 and 8. Caley Goforth absolutely stomped the qualifiers for the women, placing 2nd in both super-G races, 3rd in the first giant slalom race, and winning the rest of the qualifying races—one giant slalom and three slalom races. Bella Fisher also had great qualifiers, landing on the podium twice in the slalom races with 3rd and 2nd place finishes.
For the men, Adrian Beauregard also had a stellar performance in the qualifiers with two decisive wins in the giant slalom races, putting him in a position to qualify without racing any of the other qualifying races. Nicholas Bradford also had two podium finishes in the slalom races, winning one of the three and placing 2nd in another.
