Heavy snow throughout the week has continued to add fuel for avalanches on wind-drifted slopes at higher elevations. Here’s Brian Lazar with the Colorado Avalanche Information Center with more on this weekend’s avalanche forecast.
“Warmer temperatures and a return of ample sunshine starting Saturday and lasting until the early part of next work week means a return of wet avalanche activity, which means a very dynamic switch as we head into the weekend. So it’s important to check your forecast because the flavor of avalanches are going to change in a lot of avalanche activity that is going to be expected through the weekend and into early next week.”
