A vehicle went off Victory Way and crashed into the Prodigal Son Coffee and Bakery in Craig Tuesday morning. Craig Police Commander Doug Conrad says it was suspected mechanical failure.

“I think that we were very fortunate that there were no other vehicles or pedestrians in the area at the time that this happened and we hope that doesn’t happen again.”

Commander Conrad says the airbags both deployed and the two occupants had minor injuries.

Karson Fedinec has been honored as the Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year for all of Colorado. Karson is a junior at Moffat County High School and also takes classes at CNCC. This is the first time a student from the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado has been honored with the statewide recognition. The announcement was made Tuesday in Denver.

We have an update from the new cluster boxes in Milner. Apparently everyone who used to have a P.O. Box does have one again, including the Camillettis, whom we told you about yesterday. They were told they didn’t get a box anymore after 47 ½ years with one in Milner. Jody Camilletti says they were now given a key and they’ve been told they’ll get their mail today. She did say that she asked about the notices that were supposedly put into the boxes about the change, according to USPS spokesperson James Boxrud. But she was told at the Steamboat Springs Post Office Tuesday that notices were NOT put in their old boxes because the local post office was unaware of the change.

It’s time to rake and sweep the scoria from your property, onto the side of the road, so city street crews can pick it up. It’s easier to be picked up if it is a long thin line rather than a big pile. Please don’t have any tree branches in there.
