A new group has been formed called the Colorado State Legislative Rural Caucus. It’s a bi-partisan group, meaning both republicans and democrats, from the state Senate and House of Representatives. Senator Dylan Roberts is the Majority Caucus Chair and one of the four founding members out of the 17 on the committee that plans to “bridge the rural-urban divide through education and outreach.” All four corners of the state are represented including Northwest Colorado.
Two or more members of the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners and Natural Resources Director, Jeff Comstock, will meet with Congressman Jeff Hurd.
Colorado State Patrol is hiring emergency dispatchers for the Western Slope. Positions are open in the Regional Communication Center in Craig. No experience necessary, but you must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. The first open house is from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Centennial Mall. The second Open House is from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in the Colorado State Patrol Communications Center on West 1st Street in Craig.

These are prom dresses that have been donated from members in the community that are being made available for any Routt County students who might be headed to prom. This weekend is loads of fun at Steamboat Resort. It is the 43rd year for the Cardboard Classic, from 11:30-1 p.m. on Saturday. The Pond Skim is from 1-2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Then the “Final Showdown” is skiing on one more weekend, April 19-20.
This Saturday and Sunday is the Bud Light Rocks The Boat Free Concert Series at Steamboat Resort. The bands are Southern Avenue on Saturday and The Legendary Wailers featuring Junior Marvin on Sunday. They’ll be on the Steamboat stage for the free concert Saturday afternoon.
Dancing with the Stars is Saturday, April 12, at Strings Pavilion. It’s presented by The Steamboat Group Real Estate. Dancing with the stars is a benefit for CASA, which is Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.
