Today is Memorial Day. Local veterans are performing a Memorial Day Service at the Steamboat Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26. All are invited.
In Craig, the Memorial Day Service starts at 11 a.m. today also.
A Memorial Day service will be at the Yampa Cemetery at 11 a.m. and the Oak Creek Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, presented by the Bird-Howe Post 189. That is in South Routt.
The Memorial Day Ceremony at the Hayden Cemetery is at 6 p.m. Monday, May 26. All are invited, and the Legion Post at 22 S. 3rd Street will have free burgers and hotdogs afterwards.

It is a holiday, so city, county, and federal offices are closed and will resume regular business hours tomorrow.
Crews at Hwy 40 and Downhill Drive are not working today, in recognition of the Memorial Day weekend. They will be working tomorrow, but doing work that will not impact motorists on Hwy 40.
Grand Old West Days continues in Craig today with a Pancake Breakfast in the Pavilion this morning. The High School Rodeo Championships are this morning. The food and craft booths are open all day. It’s all at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.

Moffat County School District has a Summer School program for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It’s for two weeks in June and three weeks in July, at Sunset Elementary. There is a QR code with more information on how to apply on the Community Calendar on our website. The deadline to apply is June 9.
The Humane Society of Moffat County is running low on pet food. They need canned cat food and smaller bags of dry cat and dog food. There is a drop-off bin at the Walmart in Craig, through the end of the month.
Registration is open for the Yampa Basin Rendezvous at CMC, May 28-29. It’s a two-day conference discussion and learning about how the community can work together to build resilience in the face of a Western water crisis. Register through Yampa Valley Sustainability Council at YVSC.org
The SBT GRVL ride is looking for vendors for race day in Hayden, on June 29. The Hayden Community Festival is in Dry Creek Park. There is no cost to be a vendor. For more, contact info@sbtgrvl.com.
Steamboat Springs High School Girls Lacrosse Coach, Liz Diefendorf, has been chosen as the CHSAA 4A Mountain East Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
