A DUI Enforcement Team with Colorado State Patrol was in Routt County over the Memorial Day holiday to add extra enforcement for travelers in the area. They made 45 traffic contacts and three DUI arrests. The extra DUI enforcement from CSP is to encourage drivers to make a plan for a sober ride home and to never drive intoxicated.

Memorial Day services were held on Monday, in communities across the country and here in northwest Colorado. Here’s Jim Stanko with American Legion Post 44 in Steamboat Springs.

“I think this is important because we not only do it here but in Hayden and Oak Creek and Yampa and Craig because a lot of our people served in all these wars, and like I said, a lot of them made the sacrifice but those that even came home were the greatest generation.”

After the ceremony at the cemetery in Steamboat Springs, the American Legion presented a check for over $14,000 to the local Boys Scouts from the Lufkin Fund.
