Steamboat Art Museum presents The Art of Printmaking: Process and Passion, May 31 through Aug. 31. From Plate to Paper, experience the soul of printmaking unveiled. Guest curated by master printmaker and artist, Sue Oehme, of Steamboat Springs.
“Artists from all over the country will be represented. It will showcase many many different forms of printmaking and techniques, and imagery and mediums. It’s a huge educational experience for people.”
Oehme will be joined by 45 printmaking artists from around the world. The opening to the new show is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Steamboat Art Museum.

The Howler Alpine Slide at Howelsen Hill officially opens for the summer on Saturday, May 31. It’s open daily, except for Tuesdays. The Howler Alpine Slide is operated by the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and the Howler is hiring for the summer for full days or half days, and you must be 15 years old.
Routt County Search & Rescue is hosting Family Fun Day. This is a free community event, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the Howelsen Hill Beach area and Vanatta Field. Enjoy outdoor games and activities for kids, see the Search & Rescue equipment and vehicles, the Classic Air Medical Helicopter will be there, and there will be free hot dogs and beverages.
Routt County Riders is doing bicycle tuneups in Oak Creek on Saturday. Bring your bike and they’ll help get it ready to ride. It’s from 10 a.m. to noon at the Oak Creek Library.
Sunday is also busy.
Congratulations to the Steamboat Mountain School Class of 2025. Nineteen students are graduating at 10 a.m. this Sunday, June 1, on the campus.
The 44th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K is Sunday, June 1. The marathon starts up in North Routt County and runs alongside the Elk River on County Road 129. The marathon and half marathon are sold out but spots are available for the 10K. Sign up at SteamboatMarathon.com
All are invited to a free open house at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex. The fun starts at noon and runs throughout the afternoon with clinics and drills, games, prizes, and food. Pickleball courts will be available throughout the afternoon.
The Hayden Community Garden opens up on Friday, May 30. It’s at the historic Walnut Street Park. The cost is $15 for the season. Reserve a spot through the town of Hayden website.
Camping reservations for the Routt County Fair in August open up at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 1. They sell out quickly. Make your reservations at RouttCountyFair.org
