The Crosho Fire in South Routt is now at 57% containment. That’s according to the Watch Duty App. The last count is still at 2,072 acres burned with 365 total personnel working on the fire. No word yet on how the Crosho Fire started.
If you are driving down to Wolcott and Eagle County, you will see the Derby Fire to the west, so check road conditions. It’s burning in Eagle and Garfield counties, 13.5 miles north of Dotsero, and it is still at 0% containment, now burning 2,624 acres which is more than three times than the day before. The Derby Fire was started by lightning. There is concern about winds from thunderstorms that could drive the spread of the fire.

It’s a Jury Duty scam, saying you missed jury duty and you have to pay the fine, or get a gift card, or withdraw money and deposit in a cryptocurrency machine, or send money via Venmo. It’s all a scam. A jury summons will only come by mail. No law enforcement agency or court will every call you to get money because you missed a jury summons. Jury Duty Scams from Stop Fraud Colorado

Plaster casts of paw prints of the first two Jackson County wolves have been made by rancher Adam VanValkenburg and Range Rider Shelby Neiberger. And they’re creating interest.
“She took those to the Range Riding training course that was held in Rifle this spring. What they’re trying to do now, or the goal is to make silicone negatives of these tracks to put into a kit to show you just how large a wolf track is, because up until now, up until these prints have been at that training, everybody’s just seen them from a book or from print and this gives you perspective about how large they are in person.”

The paw prints are about six inches by six inches. They are of male 2101 and his son 2103, both of the recently named One-Ear Pack. VanValkenburg says the paw prints have been confirmed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. VanValkenburg says the paw prints are like a fingerprint.
“You can also look at the print and you can distinguish certain features within the print that lets you know if there’s a cut paw or a cut pad or something and they leave those individual tracks of how this is that particular wolf vs. other wolves.”
