The Steamboat Sailors Girls Volleyball team has a home match Tuesday at the high school. Here’s Head Coach Wendy Hall.
“So far, we have had some great play and we’ve had some play where we are a little inconsistent and have trouble kind of getting out of a spiral. It’s kind of a common thing that happens early in the season, so we need to work on correcting mistakes quickly, not just physically, but mentally mostly. That’s the biggest challenge. So yeah, they’re really fun to watch when they’re playing well, so we would love to see a full gym on Tuesday night, and these girls would love the support of the community and it’s exciting. It’s super exciting to have our first, first match so early in the season.”
There are 49 total players who went out for the volleyball team and six seniors this year. There are four teams of a D and C team, JV and Varsity. (Pictures below.)
The Steamboat Sailor Volleyball Team hosts Roaring Fork High School, with matches starting at 4:30 p.m. and Varsity playing at 6:30 p.m. Then the Sailors are on the road Wednesday, playing Middle Park High School in Granby.
