“We’re all facing this threat from the closing of coal mines and our power plants, which if you look at NW Colorado, is 22% of our gross domestic product, and it’s also our highest-playing jobs. So I feel that we will work toward protecting our community and helping them improve their quality of life by bringing in high-quality replacement jobs.”

Speakers also included Craig Mayor Chris Nichols, Hayden Mayor Ryan Banks, and State Senator Dylan Roberts.

The council report said development projects could generate 443 new jobs in Northwest Colorado with $4.5 billion in capital investment.

It was also announced that AT&T donated 185 laptops to be distributed to entrepreneurs, small business owners, families and students.
