Some power poles were blown down by strong winds Saturday, around 1st and Ranney streets in Craig. Power was impacted in the community. Yampa Valley Electric Crews got to work resetting the poles and restoring power in Craig, including at the Walmart. The community of Hamilton in Moffat County also had power outages this weekend.
The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners is meeting with Greg Brophy today, of the “Western Way” organization.
The Routt County Board of County Commissioners has a Work Session today. The Routt County Board of Health will provide a quarterly update. Agenda
Blue Skies Nursing is hosting a Memory Café of the Yampa Valley. It’s for those with memory loss, and their caregivers, for some Halloween Fun today, at 1 p.m. at Heart of Steamboat United Methodist Church at 8th and Oak. It’s free but preregister to attend through BlueSkiesNursing.com
The newest biking trail on Emerald Mountain is open, from top to bottom. It’s called Highway to Hell and it runs from the summit on down to the stables. It’s 3.25 miles of advanced/expert trail with rock drops and step-up jumps. The trail was made possible by Steamboat Springs Parks & Rec, Routt County Riders, and FlowRide Concepts, with community support from the 2A Trails Project.

Two Steamboat Springs schools hosted their Fun Runs Friday. It’s an annual district-wide tradition that celebrates fitness, school spirit, and community. It is a student-led fundraiser that is supported by all PICs to fundraise for extra school needs, such as field trips, new gym equipment, art projects, classroom technology, and more. Middle School students from North Routt Community Charter School recently went on a field trip adventure to South Dakota. They visited Mt. Rushmore and Crazy horse while hiking through beautiful landscapes.

The Steamboat Sailors lost a tough one to Eagle Valley Friday night, 35-14, despite a down-the-field touchdown on the first possession.
Moffat County also lost a tough one to Coal Ridge Friday night, in a game that had some lightning delays.
Hayden trounced Plateau Valley, 56-38, for Homecoming.
Soroco lost to Vail Christian and is still looking for their first win of the season.
It is Homecoming Week for the SoRoCo Rams. There is a parade down Main Street in Oak Creek at 6:30 tonight. The theme is Country vs. Country Club. Then there is a Powderpuff football game at 7 p.m. with a free dinner. The Homecoming game this Friday night is against West Grand at 7 p.m.
