The theme for next year’s Winter Carnival is “Dream Like a Champion.” Young artists 18 and under are invited to submit a drawing for the Winter Carnival Button, that matches the theme. It has to be a circle that fills an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper. The deadline is Nov. 9. This will be the 113th year for the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival.

113th Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival Button Artwork Contest
SSWSC invites young artists to create the button for this year’s theme, Dream Like A Champion
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club announces the Annual Winter Carnival Button Artwork Contest for the 113th Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival. Young artists, 18 years old and under, are invited to create the button for the 113th Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival theme – Dream Like A Champion. The deadline to submit artwork is November 9, 2025.
The artwork must be in a circle that fills an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper. Any medium that translates well onto a flat button may be used. Do not include text with themes and dates on the artwork. The artwork must be scanned or photographed and uploaded to the Google Form by November 9, 2025. Artists must be 18 years or younger and enrolled in a local school or home-schooled. Submitting artists give SSWSC the right to display and use any artwork submitted, as well as the artist’s name and age, for any digital or print publications, including future use. All entries must be original artwork. The winning artist will be notified at the beginning of December. Artwork may be used on 2026 113th Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival banners, posters, websites, and digital/print publications and media.
The 113th Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival will take place February 3-8, 2024. This year’s theme is Dream Like A Champion. Hosted by Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival is a community event showcasing the rich ski heritage and western tradition of Ski Town USA, celebrating athleticism and winter for over a century.
Please note: The International Olympic Committee and the US Olympic Committee have copyright on anything graphic that references the Olympics. We cannot use artwork that incorporates Olympic properties, such as Olympic designations, the Olympic Flag, the Olympic torch, the Olympic Rings, or even creative renditions of them (Meaning, if the artist puts fireworks in the shape of the Olympic Rings, we could still be penalized for using it).
