The IMPACT 100 group, with Yampa Valley Community Foundation, has awarded grants to three local non-profits. Advocates of Routt County received $10,000. Routt County Search & Rescue received $6,000, and Rocky Mountain Youth Corps received $3,000. The celebration was held at STARS Ranch.

That’s the Scary Séance Skeleton at SCREAMBOAT which is in a new location this year at the old McKnight’s Irish Pub in Wildhorse Plaza in Steamboat Springs. Hours are 6-10 p.m. tonight, Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and then next weekend as well. A link to get a time slot and tickets in advance is on our website HERE. Sinister Steamboat: Dark History Tours are hosted by local historian Marianne Capra. Meet at Carl Howelsen’s statue at the corner of 7th and Lincoln. FREE, but tips are accepted. Tours are canceled if there is bad weather.

Routt County high school students are invited to a Haunted Carnival Friday night, at the Boys & Girls Club in Steamboat Springs, at 325 8th Street. Ride the mechanical bull, and entertained by circus performers, play games, win prizes, and eat sweet treats. Dress up or not. Come with friends or come alone. It’s from 7-10 p.m. in the BGC Gym Friday night, for those in 9th grade or older. Trick-or-Treat night in Heritage Park, Silver Spur, and Steamboat II is Saturday night.

Haunted Halloween Hay Wagon rides are happening at the Bar Lazy L Ranch on Saturday, 26480 RCR 52E just 15 minutes north of Steamboat Springs. The rides are a fall fundraiser for Routt County 4H. The first ride is from 2-5 p.m. for kids. There’s a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, free chili and hot cocoa. Dress up in your Halloween finest and don’t miss the fun. It’s $20 per person but kids two and under are free.
The event gets a lot scarier on Saturday night for Haunted Hayrides, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. with live scare actors. This is only for people ages eight years and older, and a liability waiver must be signed. Those under 12 must be with an adult. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.

Hayden’s First Annual Halloween Costume Party (over 21 years old) is from 8-11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at The Hayden Community Center. It’s free and there is a $200 cash prize for the best costume. There will be a bar, beer pong, music, and fun.
The Halloween Fun 5K for the Foundry is at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. This is part of the nonprofit Steamboat Running Series, and it is the last event of the series this year. You can run or walk, bring the family and pets on a leash. But dress up in your Halloween finest. The race starts and ends in the parking lot at Soda Creek Elementary School, 220 Park Ave. in Steamboat Springs.

Join Colorado Mountain College’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) for a spooky good time at Hill Hall’s Enchanted Castle event. It’s from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. The whole building will be decked out for trick-or-treating, games, and fun — perfect for families and community members of all ages. Trick-or-treat throughout the hall and look for the doors with little trick-or-treat signs. Enjoy a free carnival with prizes and games on the first floor. Please bring a non-perishable food donation to help support CMC’s local food drive. Buckets/bags for trick-or-treating will be available at the front desk if needed. Everything is free and open to the community.

Coffee with Council is from 8-9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the Paachihpi Community Room in City Hall. Those City Councilors who are available will be there to meet and answer questions on current issues and topics.
The Board of Trustees for the Town of Oak Creek meets at 10 a.m. Saturday, for a special board meeting. They’ll be doing final interviews for the position of Police Chief. The two being interviewed are Jeffrey Mason and Dave Beyer. Agenda
The annual Ski & Sport Swap is Saturday, Oct. 25 in Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill. It’s a fundraising event for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, presented by F.M. Light & Sons. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with that first hour Early Bird Shopping for $15. This is for new and used ski and snowboard equipment, outdoor gear, sporting goods, winter and outdoor clothing, and more.
Consignees must pick up unsold consignment items between 2-3 p.m. on the day of the swap, October 25. Any items not picked up at this time will be disposed of or donated. SSWSC retains 35% of each sale, and checks will be mailed within two weeks after the sale. Proceeds benefit SSWSC athletes. SSWSC will provide a sales report of items sold at the end of the day or when picking up unsold items. SSWSC is still recruiting volunteers for the event. It’s Senior Night in Craig for the Moffat County Bulldogs football team. The game against Delta starts at 7 p.m.

After tonight’s Moffat County game, 5th Quarter with Partners for Youth presents Fright Night Frenzy. That’s from 9-11 p.m. on the football field. It’s for middle school and high school students with a costume contest with food and music.
The Moffat County Cross Country team hosts regionals today at Loudy Simpson Park.
The Moffat County Girls Volleyball team is away Saturday afternoon with a match against Gunnison.
The SoRoCo Rams Girls Volleyball team hosts DeBeque tonight and then Basalt at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Oak Creek.
The SoRoCo Rams Football team is on the road with a 1 p.m. Saturday game against Lake County High School.

Colorado Northwestern Community College is returning Men’s Wrestling to the Spartan athletic program. There is an intersquad dual at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 in Hefley Arena. It’s free and open to the public.
