As of today, Saturday, Nov. 1, no parking is allowed on Steamboat Springs city streets overnight, and during specific hours, primarily to facilitate snow removal.

The restrictions run from November 1 to April 30, with no parking from 2-8 a.m. in most areas, and different restricted times for specific locations like Lincoln Avenue and the Anglers Drive area. There is also a city-wide rule against parking within 5 feet of a driveway or 15 feet of a fire hydrant.

Press Release from the City of Steamboat Springs.

Winter Parking Restrictions Begin November 1

No Overnight On Street Parking Between November 1 to April 30

Steamboat Springs, Colorado-October 28, 2025-In a town that measures snow in feet, not inches, November marks the start of seasonal parking restrictions designed to help city crews keep streets, parking lots, and alleyways clear and safe throughout the winter.

“We’re asking for everyone’s help by following the city’s winter parking requirements, which go into effect Saturday, November 1,” said Streets Superintendent David Van Winkle. “During the winter, keeping streets open and safe for travel is our top priority, and everyone’s cooperation makes a big difference.”

Snow piles up quickly in Steamboat Springs, and parked vehicles can slow down or block plowing operations. To ensure efficient snow removal, overnight parking is prohibited on city streets and shoulders from November 1 through April 30. Vehicles parked in violation may be ticketed or towed during snowplow operations. Parking citations can be paid online.

There is no overnight parking or camping allowed on city streets, at public facilities, or in public parking lots — including Howelsen Hill Ski Area, Howelsen Rodeo Grounds, Howelsen Ice Arena, Stockbridge, and Emerald Park, among others.

“As we head into winter, we ask everyone to familiarize themselves with local parking laws and signs,” added Community Service Supervisor Krista Amatuzio. “Paying attention to posted restrictions helps keep roads open and safe for everyone.”

The City of Steamboat Springs prioritizes snow removal based on public safety and traffic volumes, beginning with emergency access routes, transit corridors, and commercial areas before moving into residential neighborhoods. Parking complaints can be reported to Police Dispatch at 970-879-1144.
