Bring your old pumpkins to Yampa Valley Foods, 35 11st Street in Steamboat Springs, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. They’ll be reused as animal feed and compost. The 6th annual Pumpkins for Piggies is hosted by the Community Agriculture Alliance. Please remove all paint, candles and wax from the pumpkins.

Funeral services for Phillip Gibson, formerly of Craig are at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Grant Mortuary Chapel. Gibson died Wednesday. He was 82.

Today is First Friday Art Walk at galleries throughout downtown Steamboat Springs, and the Depot Art Center. That’s where they’re having puzzle boards from 48 local artists. They’ll also have a raffle and Masterpiece cocktails from Mythology. First Friday Artwalk is a free, self-guided tour, from 5-8 p.m. tonight. Ann Coon of Steamboat Springs is being honored with the 2025 USTA Colorado Arthur Ashe Award. Coon will be presented with the award at a USTA Colorado Awards Gala on Saturday. She is being recognized for her unwavering commitment to opening doors for youth from under-served communities, and connecting them to tennis.

A Routt County: Land Stewardship Class is Nov. 8 (9 a.m.-4:15 p.m.). This is offered by the Community Agriculture Alliance and Routt County CSU Extension Office. Real Estate agents can earn seven hours of continued education credit. It’s in the Routt County Community Room, 135 6th Street.

The Holiday Season kicks off Saturday in Hayden at the Holiday Craft Fair. Join the fun from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Hayden Center, for all of your holiday shopping needs. High school bands from across Northwest Colorado are in Steamboat Springs Saturday for the Northwest Colorado District Honor Band Concert. They’ll be performing at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at Steamboat Springs High School. The event is free and open to the public. Top student musicians from 15 high schools across Northwest Colorado will spend the day learning under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Justis, Chair of Music at Western Colorado University, culminating in a special afternoon performance. Participating schools include Eagle Valley, Roaring Fork, Moffat County, Meeker, Summit, Soroco, Steamboat Springs, Rangely, Rifle, Middle Park, Grand Valley, Glenwood Springs, Coal Ridge, Battle Mountain, and Aspen.
The Steamboat Swings dance group is hosting a Mud Season Mingle Dance, from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Bud Werner Memorial Library. Round three for the Steamboat Sailors Boys Soccer team in the CHSAA 3A State Soccer Championships is Saturday afternoon, at home in Steamboat Springs. Join Girls on the Run in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Fall Steamboat Springs 5K, this Saturday, Nov. 8, at Strawberry Park Elementary, 39620 Amethyst Drive. The event is for over 200 girls in grades 3-8, and anyone else who wants to run. They are celebrating an 8-week Girls on the Run program that uses running to teach life skills, boost confidence, and build friendships.
