The Head of School of North Routt Community Charter School (NRCCS) has been dismissed by the school board of the charter school, saying that a leadership change was in the best interest of the school and its community. Operations Manager Carlie Pedrini is acting as the lead of the school while the board works on filling the role. This was Kohler’s third year as Head of School.

Veterans in Northwest Colorado are being honored and recognized for Veterans Day today. Many of the schools in Routt and Moffat counties are having programs throughout the day today. Here’s veteran Jim Stanko with local American Legion post 44 and VFW Post 4264 in Routt County.
“To honor Veterans Day is not just for veterans, it’s for the total public to come and honor the service of veterans. And these kids at the schools do a tremendous program to honor veterans, but also to make the public aware of what Veterans Day is all about. The kids do a lot of hard work and over the last few years have put on tremendous programs that the public should come and attend. Everybody is invited.”
There is a Veterans Day concert at 9:30 a.m. this morning at South Routt Elementary School in Yampa.
The Moffat County School district has a flag-raising at Sunset Elementary at 7:45 this morning, followed by concerts and recognitions of our veterans at all schools throughout the evening. That includes the Craig campus of CNCC at 9 a.m.
Veterans are being honored at Hayden High School at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. today.
In Steamboat Springs, there is a Veterans Day Assembly at 8:35 this morning at Strawberry Park and then at 10:45 a.m. at Soda Creek. North Routt Charter School has a program at 1:30 p.m. today in Clark.

Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and the National Guard get free entry into Colorado State Parks today, for Veterans Day. These include Elkhead Reservoir, Pearl Lake State Park, Stagecoach, Steamboat Lake, and Yampa River State Park.
Veterans at Casey’s Pond all received quilts Monday, from the Delectable Mountain Quilters Guild. The women made 20 quilts to give to the veterans, on the eve of Veterans Day. The celebration continued with a Happy Birthday cake and song to the 250th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. Some veterans at Casey’s Pond were also given hats, if they had not yet received one from the local Routt County veterans.
Credentials-only wristbands are available as of 9 a.m. TODAY (Tuesday, Nov. 11), for access to all of the live music for MusicFest, Jan. 6-9, in Steamboat Springs. Quantities are limited. Wristbands are available at TheMusicFest.com
High School seniors in Routt and Moffat counties can now apply for the 2026 Crane-Inspired Creative Arts Scholarship Contest. It’s offered from the Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition, with submissions in written, musical or visual form. Apply through ColoradoCranes.org
The Steamboat Sailors Boys Soccer Team is off to the semifinals in the 2025 CHSAA Boys 3A State Championships. The semifinal game is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC) in Arvada. The #3-ranked Steamboat Sailors take on #2-ranked Jefferson Academy.
