Press Release from North Routt Community Charter School

Public Press Release North Routt Community Charter School Board of Directors
For Immediate Release Date: November 12, 2025 Subject: Board Member Resignations and Next Steps
The North Routt Community Charter School (NRCCS) Board of Directors announces the resignations of Board President Kim Smith, Board Secretary Jenn Clements, and Board Treasurer Elizabeth Wegner, effective November 11, 2025.
All board members – recently past and present – remain united in the decision to pursue administrative changes at the school.
Each departing member has expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve the NRCCS community and confidence in the ongoing strength of the school. Each has stepped down for individual, personal reasons — one had already planned to resign, and two others are stepping away to care for their families. The Board respects these individual choices and thanks them for their years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to the school’s mission.
In accordance with the NRCCS Bylaws and state requirements, the remaining Board members will hold a Board meeting on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. at NRCCS to elect new officers for the positions of President, Treasurer, and Secretary. These elections will ensure that Board leadership remains structured and that governance responsibilities are clearly defined during this transition period. Susie Wyman, a local resident and retired teacher, was elected to serve on the Board during the September 2025 meeting and will also be sworn in to replace the planned resignee.
The Board has initiated the search for an interim Head of School. This process will move forward without delay to ensure continued stability and support for NRCCS students, teachers, and staff.
“Our teachers and staff continue to provide excellent care and education for our students,” the Board said in a statement. “We remain focused on supporting them and maintaining the strong, connected learning environment our community values.”
