Megadeth performs live on stage June 29^ 2012 at 15th annual Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Suvilahti^ in Helsinki^ Finland.

Megadeth have announced the global cinematic event, Megadeth: Behind The Mask, which will premiere in more than 1,000 cinemas across over 35 countries on Thursday January 22, 2026. The one-night-only screening premieres one day prior to the release of the band’s self-titled final studio album, due out January 23rd.

Megadeth: Behind The Mask “pulls back the curtain on 40 years of Megadeth, sharing untold stories from the band’s past and the creative fire that still drives them. Woven through the film is the world premiere of the new self-titled album, played in full, with Mustaine offering track-by-track reflections on what will be the band’s last studio statement. The result is an immersive celebration of one of the most influential bands in Metal history and a powerful closing chapter to a four-decade career.”

Frontman Dave Mustaine shares: “This listening event is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world. I have so much gratitude for everyone who helped bring this film to life, especially you, the fans! Now let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”

Tickets for Megadeth: Behind The Mask go on sale on Thursday, December 11, with the official trailer also arriving on the same day. Fans can head to megadethfilm.com for more information.

Megadeth also recently announced they will host an exclusive, all-day ‘ultimate immersive listening event’ in celebration of their upcoming self-titled studio album. The one-day event, taking place just outside of Nashville in La Vergne, TN, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, will allow fans to ‘get closer to the band, the music, the stories, and the legacy than ever before.’

The experience will give attendees a chance to listen to the new album early, witness a Megadeth acoustic performance, attend a Megadeth Master Class where the band breaks down legendary riffs, songwriting, tones, and techniques—right from the stage, a band Q&A, Guitar Talk with Dave Mustaine and Gibson CEO César Gueikian where they will share special news, photo op with the band, catered dinner with Megadeth beer and House of Mustaine wine, immersive photo op experiences, autographed album-art poster, exclusive merch, and more. Fans must be 18 years of age or older to attend. For information, head HERE.

In anticipation of their final studio album, Megadeth released the single “I Don’t Care,” along with a video from director Keith J Leman. Check it out: HERE.
