Steamboat Ski Resort Partners with Food Bank of the Rockies to Host Pop-Up Mobile Food Pantry for Yampa Valley Community
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO – December 12, 2025 – Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation (SSRC) in collaboration with and Food Bank of the Rockies, Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado, Heart of Steamboat Church and Yampa Valley Community Foundation are proud to announce a special collaboration to host a drive-through, pop-up mobile food pantry for community members in Steamboat Springs and throughout the Yampa Valley. The free, drive-through pantry will offer bags filled with holiday meal staples for individuals and families on December 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Meadows parking lot.
Each bag will include a substantial assortment of seasonal food items, including breakfast, lunch, and holiday dinner offerings. All community members are welcome. Guests arriving by car will be greeted by a volunteer who will check them in, and then vehicles will proceed through the drive-through line to receive food directly in their car.
“SSRC is deeply committed to supporting our community,” said Dave Hunter, president and chief operating officer for SSRC. “We’re proud to partner with Food Bank of the Rockies for a second year in a row to help ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals, particularly around the holidays.”
During the 2024-25 season, SSRC and Food Bank of the Rockies hosted three mobile pantries with great success, serving 726 individuals and distributing 14,579 pounds of shelf-stable and fresh food. The goal for the December 19, 2025 mobile food pantry is to provide holiday meals for 300 households in the Yampa Valley.
“These pop-up mobile pantries help relieve pressure on local resources and address the increased demand that comes with the influx of seasonal neighbors,” says Christina Gumbiner, Western Slope Programs Manager for Food Bank of the Rockies. “Our aim is to supplement the important work of local organizations we partner with year-round and provide additional support to neighbors during the peak holiday season.”
