Most government offices are open again today. Regular office hours for Routt County resume today. City offices for Steamboat Springs reopen this morning at 7:30 a.m. Moffat County offices are closed today/Friday. Offices for the 14th Judicial District will be open on Friday. Yampa Valley Electric reopens this morning at 7 a.m.

LiftUP of Routt County was closed for New Year’s Day but is reopen Friday.
If you had regular trash service in Craig yesterday, on Thursday, your trash will be picked up today, instead.

Uphill access is permitted at Steamboat Resort starting today, Friday, Jan. 2. All users must follow uphill access policies, and have an Uphill Access Armband. Proceeds from that are donated to local nonprofits each year. Stay on designated routes that are on the Steamboat resort website. Respect signs and closures. Resort crews are working to open more terrain.

The MusicFest tent is going up, starting today in the north portion of the upper Knoll Lot, so parking is restricted. The festival tent will be there through Jan. 15. The lower Knoll Triangle Lot closes Monday.

It is National Radon Action Month. Routt County Public Health encourages community members to test their homes for radon, and remediate if necessary. Routt County Public Health has a limited supply of short-term radon test kits available. They’re free for you to test your home. Pick one up at their offices at 135 6th Street in Steamboat Springs between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Registration is still open for the Friends of Stagecoach Ice Fishing Tournament at Stagecoach Stage Park in Oak Creek. It’s now going to be Jan. 17, and it is limited to the first 300 participants. The cost is $40 and there will be cash prizes. Register through www.FriendsofStagecoachSP.org

The defending state champion Steamboat Sailors Hockey Team has their first home game of the season at 7:15 p.m. Friday night against Durango. We will be there, broadcasting live on KTYV 105.7 Sports on FM. And you can watch through the Steamboat Radio YouTube channel, available through our website.
There is a second game against Durango at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Both games are at Howelsen Ice Arena.
The Steamboat Sailors Girls Wrestling team and the Hayden Tigers Boys Wrestling team are both at a tournament in Kremmling Saturday. It’s at West Grand High School.
The SoRoCo Boys Wrestling Team is in Rangely Saturday.
