A multiple agency investigation of fentanyl distribution has led to the arrest of three men. Steamboat Springs Police reports two local residents died from the fentanyl distribution. Their names are not being released.

The three men arrested are 44-year-old Nathan Zabik in Breckenridge. He’s also has felony charges related to terrorist mass casualty threats made in Summit County.

37-year-old Matthew Bentley was arrested in California.

They were all booked into their local county jails, which includes Summit and Eagle counties and an arrest in California. That person will have to go through the extradition process to be brought back to Routt County.

The All Crimes Enforcement Team (ACET) is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of officers and deputies from the Steamboat Springs Police Department, Routt County Sheriff’s Office, Craig Police Department, and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office. Its primary mission is to identify, disrupt, and dismantle drug-trafficking organizations.

All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

The 51st Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill at Steamboat Resort had cowboys and cowgirls on skis and snowboards, racing down the face of the Stampede Run at the base of the ski area Monday.

A couple of brothers, Rylan and Riggin Smith from Athens, Texas, won that no-holds-barred race to the finish. Here’s 22-year-old Riggin.

“To be honest, you got to keep skiing down the hill. You can’t let your weight take you down. You’ve got to keep pumping and ski the whole time. It’s awesome. I love it. I had a blast.”

The Cowboy Downhill always coincides with the National Western Stock Show in Denver. Those competing are bull and bronc riders, steer wrestlers and Team Ropers. Plus, many state rodeo queens also did their best at the gates and the big jump, described as, “Part ski race, part rodeo, and part train wreck.” We’ve got a lot of pictures on the Steamboat Radio Facebook page.

Yampa Valley Regional Airport – HDN has been busy because of the holiday weekend. Remember to get to the local regional airport in Hayden with plenty of time. Bags must be checked 45 minutes before domestic flights and an hour before departure for international flights.

The Moffat County Boys Wrestling team has a match against the Hayden Tigers, in Hayden today.
