The four people who died in that plane crash on Emerald Mountain Friday have been identified by Routt County Coroner Mitch Locke. All four are from the Franklin, Tennessee area. They are 47-year-old Austin Stokes, who was the founder of Shop Fix Academy, EuroFix, and AmeriFix. His son, 21-year-old Jackson Stokes also died, with their nephew and cousin, 21-year-old Colin Stokes. The fourth person who died on the plane is 37-year-old Austin Huskey, who was the CEO of Huskey Building Supply, also in Franklin, Tennessee.

Thank you again to all of the first responders who were involved, especially Routt County Search and Rescue.

Snow is on the way. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Yampa River Basin. Snow is expected to start just before midnight tonight and last at least through Thursday. Wind gusts could be as high as 45 miles per hour. Blowing snow could make zero visibility at times so travel could be difficult.

Today is a holiday. Government offices are closed. This includes the state’s entire Division of Motor Vehicles for a complete system upgrade. Local DMV offices are expected to reopen late Tuesday afternoon.

Saturday night at the base of Steamboat Resort on Valentine’s Day was a beautiful Balloon Glow under clear skies, with a torchlight parade, and fireworks, and a happy proposal as the fireworks began. She said yes.
