SSWSC Athletes Earn Top Finishes at 2026 Freestyle Moguls Junior Nationals
Sydney Soard wins to take the junior nationals titles in singles and duals, Griffin Harvey earns second place in singles, and Finley Fontaine has a standout performance in Park City
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — Thirteen athletes from Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) qualified for the 2026 Freestyle Moguls Junior Nationals, held March 16–22 at Utah Olympic Park. The competition featured the nation’s top junior athletes competing for U15, U17, and U19 titles in moguls and dual moguls.
SSWSC qualifiers included Finley Fontaine, Anouk Bradley, Lyllah Miller, Sydney Soard, Kensie Ricketts, Lucy Gray and Gigi Lobeck on the women’s side, and Griffin Harvey, Henry Crump, Cole Anderson, Aiden Kottcamp, Max Marrs and Archer Glaskin for the men.
Despite unseasonably warm conditions, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees, the mogul courses remained in strong shape due to ongoing maintenance by Park City Ski & Snowboard and Utah Olympic Park staff. Athletes competed on softened, slushy terrain, testing their technical skills, speed and aerial execution.
In the U15 division, Archer Glaskin led the way with a fourth-place finish, narrowly missing the podium. Max Marrs improved on his qualifying position to finish eighth. Aiden Kottcamp placed 38th, while Lucy Gray finished 28th in the girls competition.
The U17 division delivered standout performances for SSWSC. Sydney Soard captured the junior national championship title, winning by more than five points. Completing a back truck for the first time, Soard posted the fastest time of the day and the highest turn scores. Gigi Lobeck finished sixth, while Kensie Ricketts placed eighth and Lyllah Miller ninth in their Junior Nationals debuts.
In the U17 boys competition, Griffin Harvey earned a second-place finish with the fastest run of the event, more than half a second ahead of the field. Cole Anderson placed seventh, successfully landing a full-twisting back layout on the top jump. Henry Crump, returning after missing more than half the season due to injury, finished 14th.
In the U19 division, Finley Fontaine recorded a career-best result, finishing fifth in her final single moguls event after 12 years with SSWSC. Fontaine posted her highest score to date, excelling in speed, air and turns.
On Saturday, Soard put down run after run, claiming the U17 junior national title in dual moguls. Also in U17, Kensie Rickets was on fire, ending up in 5th place, Gigi Lobeck finished 8th and Lyllah Miller got out in the round of 16. For U17 boys, Cole Anderson skied his heart out and finished a career high 4th. Griffin Harvey’s spectacular crash in the slush ended his run in the round of 16. Henry Crump got a tough draw, finishing in the round of 32.
Max Marrs thrived in the head-to-head duals competition, finishing 4th in the U15 dual moguls. Archer Glaskin and Lucy Gray got out in the round of 16, and Aiden Kottcamp lost in the round of 64.

Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Steamboat Athletes Earn Multiple Podium Finishes at 2026 Junior National Championships
Ethan Maines wins individual ski jumping, individual nordic combined, mixed team nordic combined, and elimination jump competitions
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — The 2026 Junior Championships for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined concluded on a high note last week in Steamboat Springs, as the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) successfully hosted the event despite rapidly deteriorating snow conditions from March 13-15 at Howelsen Hill.
Fielding a team of 19 (23 qualified) athletes, all from Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, RMD delivered an exceptional performance on home snow. The team captured 16 of the 37 medals awarded, including an impressive 11 of 14 gold medals. Their success came in the face of challenging conditions, with strong winds impacting the jumps and slushy trails making cross-country segments especially demanding.
RMD’s gold medalists included Ethan Maines, Ella Wilson, Charlotte Flemming, Valentina Broggi, McKenzie Maines, Miles Warnke, Austin Johnson, and Nico Bowdre.
Equally important to the event’s success were the dedicated volunteers and hill workers whose efforts behind the scenes made the competition possible. Their hard work and commitment ensured that, despite difficult conditions, the championships ran smoothly and provided a memorable experience for all involved.

U16 boys include Nico Bowdre, Connor VanOveren, Miles Warnke, Owen Trimble, Arthur Keller, Everett Baldwin, Kaden Graham, Theo Givnish, Langdon Devin, Ike Feiges, Logan VanOveren, Flynn Oslowski, and Max Aljanich. U16 girls include Mackenzie Maines, Charlotte Fleming, Valentina Broggi, and Piper Mouttet. U20 boys include Arthur Tirone, Sawyer Graves, Ethan Maines, and Austin Johnson, and U20 women include Haley Brabec and Ella Wilson. Arthur Tirone, Haley Brabec, Sawyer Graves, and Langdon Devin did not compete.

SSWSC Cross Country Athletes Deliver Strong Performances at Junior National Championships
Georgia Bishop is the Junior National Champion in the Freestyle Individual Start, Sawyer Landers, Conor Devin and Bode Rhodes are 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Mass Start Classic and six SSWSC athletes earned All-American honors by placing in the top 10 of their respective events.
Steamboat Springs, Colo. — Sixteen athletes from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club cross country program competed at the 2026 Cross Country Junior National Championships, held March 9-14, turning in an impressive set of results against the nation’s top junior skiers. Georgia Bishop is the junior national champion in the freestyle individual start, Sawyer Landers, Conor Devin and Bode Rhodes are 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the mass start classic and six SSWSC athletes earned All-American honors by placing in the top 10 of their respective events.
Georgia Bishop delivered one of the standout performances of the week for SSWSC. The U16 skier captured a national title in the freestyle individual start by a commanding 31-second margin, took second in the mass start classic and placed eighth in the classic sprint. Bishop also posted the fastest opening leg in the U16 relay.
SSWSC athletes consistently finished near the top. Four athletes earned top-four individual finishes, highlighted by a sweep of second through fourth place in the U16 boys mass start classic: Sawyer Landers was second, Conor Devin third and Bode Rhodes fourth. Antigone Loomis finished fourth in the classic sprint, missing third by less than 6 inches.
Additional highlights included Sophia McGinnis-Smith earning All-American honors with a 10th-place finish in the classic sprint. Livia Spector secured a top-10 finish in the U16 girls mass start classic.
SSWSC also had strong performances in the relay events. The U16 team of Bishop, Devin and Landers placed fourth overall, with Bishop winning the opening leg. In the U18 relay, Loomis turned in a second-place performance on the first leg.
The Junior National Championships are the highest level of domestic competition for junior cross country skiers, bringing together top qualifiers from across the country.
Congratulations to Anna Rhodes and Eva Minotto, who are finishing their senior year season strong. Rhodes had top 20 finishes in both the Freestyle Individual Start (17th) and the Mass Start Classic (17th).

Freeride Team Delivers at IFSA Big Mountain Taos; Zoe Chase Wins U19 Women’s Division
Steamboat Springs, Colo. — Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) freeride athletes competed at International Freeskiers & Snowboarders Association (IFSA) Big Mountain competitions at Taos Ski Valley from March 10–13, 2026, facing challenging and thin snow conditions.
At the IFSA Taos 2 event on March 10, the team delivered strong results, highlighted by Zoe Chase, who won the U19 women’s division. In the U19 men’s field, Robbie Wodnick placed fifth and Brody Schwab finished sixth. In the U15 men’s division, Stephen Mead led the group in fifth place, followed by Bennett Creagan in sixth and Calvin Drever in 11th.
The team carried that momentum into the IFSA Taos 3 event, held March 11–13. Chase narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish in the U19 women’s division. Branigan Murphy led the U19 men with a fifth-place result.
In the U15 men’s division, Paddock Whitten finished sixth, followed by Winston Whitten in 12th, Jackson Rozwadowski in 27th and Stephen Mead in 31st. In the U15 women’s field, Sasha Wodnik placed 15th and Milly Grover 16th.
Additional U19 women’s results included Skylar Davison in 16th and Molly Grady in 19th. In the U19 men’s division, Fergus Kemp finished 25th, Thomas Drever 30th, Robbie Wodnick 42nd and George Boisjoli 46th.
Overall, the team showed resilience and progression across both events in demanding conditions.
