The Craig Police Department has issued another scam alert. Local residents are getting phone calls where the caller identifies as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jury Commission, and that you missed jury duty. They then go on to say you have to pay a fine. It’s a scam. Don’t make any payments over the phone and don’t give them any personal identifying information.

Steamboat Resort is closing for the season this Sunday, April 5. That’s two weeks earlier than what had been originally scheduled. The Cardboard Classic is canceled but the Splashdown Pond Skim is at 11 a.m. this Sunday, up at Rendezvous Lodge. Register HERE for the event.

The Steamboat Springs School District is offering free developmental screenings for children ages 3–5 who are not yet in kindergarten. These play-based screenings check speech and language, motor skills, social-emotional development, vision, hearing, and early learning skills.
Screening date: April 3
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Look for painted windows throughout downtown Steamboat Springs Friday night, during First Friday Art Walk. Local artists have been doing the decorating. It’s a collaboration between Wildhorse Arts & Cinema and Main Street Steamboat Springs. First Friday Artwalk is from 5-8 p.m., at galleries throughout downtown Steamboat Springs and including the Depot Art Center.

Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp presents The Wizard of Oz tonight and tomorrow, with a special matinee on Saturday. Tickets are available through the Perry-Mansfield website.
The Ski Town Showdown is at 7 p.m. Friday night, April 3, at Howelsen Ice Arena. Employees from the City of Steamboat Springs are facing off with the mountain ops crew from Steamboat Resort. Please bring a non-perishable item or cash donation for LiftUp of Routt County.
The Cody’s Challenge race has been canceled. It was supposed to be this Saturday, as a fundraiser for the Cody St. John Foundation.
There are three Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday.
The Oak Creek Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 4, in Decker Park. Crafts and music starts at 9:30 a.m. with the Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. sharp, for kids 12 and under. Then there’s photos with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Egg Hunt is brought to you by South Routt Community Events and the Town of Oak Creek.
The Haven Community Center in Hayden is hosting an Easter Egg-Travaganza. It’s from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. Hosts are Haven Assisted Living and the Town of Hayden. In Craig, New Creation Church is hosting their 14th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. This is for kids up to 5th grade. There will be 25,000 eggs with lots more fun like bounce houses, a petting zoo, bubble ponds, and more. It’s free but kids have to pre-register at NCCCraig.com. The event opens at 9 a.m. and the egg hunt begins at 11 a.m.
The Rocky Mountain Division Ski Jump and Nordic Combined Junior Championships Team is offering to wax up your skis before storing them away for the winter. Bring your skis to Howelsen Hill from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 4. The kids will clean them up and wax them up. They spend a lot of time waxing skis so they’re really good at it. Donations are accepted and appreciated, to support the student-athletes on the team.
The Annual Masquerade Ball hosted by Yampa Valley Autism Program is Saturday, April 4. This year’s theme is “Through the Looking Glass — An Evening in Wonderland.” This is Yampa Valley Autism’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and a night to celebrate the stars of Yampa Valley Autism. The Reveal Party for this summer’s Steamboat Free Summer Concert series is Saturday night at Old Town Pub. It starts at 7 p.m. Bonfire Dub will be on stage.
