Tom Dumont, longtime guitarist for No Doubt, has revealed he is living with early-onset Parkinson’s disease, opening up just weeks before the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency at the Sphere.

In a video posted to Instagram, the 58-year-old explained that he first noticed symptoms several years ago, prompting visits to his doctor and a neurologist. After undergoing multiple tests, he received the diagnosis. “It’s been a struggle,” he said. “It’s a struggle every day, and I’ll make another video with details about what Parkinson’s entails. The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well.”

Despite the challenges, Dumont emphasized that he remains active musically and plans to perform with the band during their run at the Sphere in Las Vegas, scheduled from May 6 through June 13. Frontwoman Gwen Stefani is set to headline the shows alongside bandmates Adrian Young and Tony Kanal.

Dumont said he was motivated to go public by others who have shared their own health journeys. “I’ve just been very inspired by other people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media,” he explained, adding that openness can help reduce stigma and boost awareness, which is vital for research and prevention. He also reflected on the band’s long history, saying that revisiting old songs and footage while preparing for the residency has been especially meaningful. It’s reminded him, he said, of how grateful he is for his career and the experiences he’s had over the years.

Formed in 1986, No Doubt has reunited in recent years following periods of hiatus, including a return for Coachella 2024 and a performance at the FireAid LA benefit concert in early 2025.
