Memorial Regional Health in Craig has received recertification for its Trauma Program after a Level IV Trauma Designation site review. It was a perfect score for MRH.
Here’s MRH CEO Jennifer Riley.
“I cannot be more proud of the work that our team did to get ourselves ready for this survey. The fact that we met every single criteria is really phenomenal and an accomplishment that not every hospital achieves. I think it’s just a testament to the dedication that our team has to delivering quality care and to be recognized by the state in this way, it’s really a tremendous accomplishment.”

Memorial Regional Health Trauma Program Earns Perfect Recertification
Craig, Colo. — Memorial Regional Health (MRH) is proud to announce that its Trauma Program has successfully achieved recertification following its triennial Level IV Trauma Designation site review — earning a perfect result with zero unmet standards and zero standards met with reservations.
MRH’s Trauma Program plays a critical role in providing emergency stabilization, treatment, and coordination of care for patients across Northwest Colorado and surrounding communities.
“These achievements reflect something larger than individual programs or certifications,” said Jennifer Riley, CEO of Memorial Regional Health. “They reflect a healthcare organization committed to continuous improvement and to delivering the highest level of care possible for our community. Rural healthcare is not without challenges, but our team remains focused on advancing services, investing in education and training, embracing innovation, and ensuring patients can receive excellent care close to home whenever possible.”
Trauma designation site reviews are evaluations that assess a hospital’s ability to provide timely, coordinated trauma care every three years. State trauma surveyors evaluate everything from clinical protocols and response times to equipment, staffing, education, and performance improvement processes.
“The surveyors stated what we already know — that the care delivered here is outstanding,” Riley said. “Achieving a perfect survey result speaks volumes about the commitment and teamwork of the people who provide trauma care across our organization every day.
During the survey, special recognition was given to Trauma Program Manager Sarah Moore and Trauma Nurse Coordinator Megan O’Toole for the significant progress and improvements made within the program over the past three years. Surveyors specifically noted that MRH “continues to get better and not just maintain status quo.”
The survey team also commended the collaborative leadership of co-Trauma Medical Directors Dr. Jeffrey Womble and Dr. Renee Carson, whose partnership has helped strengthen trauma care processes, education, and patient outcomes across the organization.
“This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, EMS teams, laboratory staff, radiology staff, therapists, surgical services staff, and countless others who contribute to trauma care every day,” Riley added. “Trauma care is not the work of one department. It depends on skilled teams working together seamlessly under pressure.”
