Season passes for Howelsen Hill are now on sale. They can be purchased online at steamboatsprings.net/ski. You can also pick up your pass in person at the Parks & Rec Office starting Nov. 1 and then at the new ticket office at Howelsen Hill in mid-November. Howelsen Hill is set to open Saturday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, April 3, for its 106th winter season. That new triple chair going in will be running every day.

“The ski area offers some of the most affordable options for individuals and families looking for all-access, Alpine or Nordic season passes in Colorado,” commented Howelsen Ski & Rodeo Manager Brad Setter. “On top of that, the ski area is finalizing several significant on-mountain improvements highlighted by the new triple chairlift, a stand-alone ticket office, and new food concessionaire.”
Season passes may be purchased online at steamboatsprings.net/ski. In-person pass pick up and sales will begin on November 1 at the Parks & Recreation Office and will eventually move to the new ticket office at Howelsen Hill mid-November. Please check the website for details on hours and pick up location. The ticket office will continue to sell passes and daily tickets during normal operating hours throughout the season.
The ski area is set to usher in its 106th winter season in big fashion with one of the longest planned seasons ever, running from Saturday, November 27 and continuing for the first time into April, closing on Sunday, April 3.
The ski area will be open seven days a week with the new triple chairlift running daily, conditions permitting. In addition to the new lift, the hill has pioneered a new slopeside ticket office, features creative culinary cuisine from a new local concessionaire, unveils new runs and the return of the Howelsen Huts.

The popular Ski Free Sunday program is anticipated to start on December 5, the day after a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the new triple chairlift celebrating the partnership between the city, Smartwool, VF Foundation and the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. The Ski Free Sunday program is planned to run every Sunday through closing day, Sunday, April 3.
Owned and operated by the City of Steamboat Springs, Howelsen Hill is home to the acclaimed Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. The ski area, a city park, features affordable skiing and snowboarding across terrain catered toward all abilities as well as enjoys 13 miles of Nordic, snowshoe, and snow bike trails.
