The Diamond Hitch Parade wraps up a lot of the Winter Carnival fun. It starts around 10:30 Sunday morning, Feb. 13, after the street events wrap up.

SSWSC is looking for a sleigh or a cart or an alternative ride for the Winter Carnival Court as the normal sleigh is not available this year. If you can participate by driving the Carnival Queen, her court, and princesses, please reach out to Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.

A few details:

  • Vehicles must have tracks. No chained tires.
  • Provide a few sentences about your entry for the announcer to read.
  • You’ll find out where you are in the lineup a few days before the parade.
  • Don’t throw any candy or beads or anything from your float.
  • You have to use the Diamond Hitch with at least four skiers/riders being pulled by a rope if you want to be judged. Animals, people, or tracked vehicles may pull the skiers down the snow-filled streets.
    • Wear costumes and use decorations that represent this year’s Winter Carnival Theme: “Where Legends are Made.”
    • Use at least one diamond hitch.
    • Be on skis or snowboards.
    • Hold the diamond position throughout the parade route.
