
You may have received a Jury Summons in the mail. Jury trials are happening again in the 14th Judicial District, which represents Routt, Moffat, and Grand counties.
Chief Judge Michael O’Hara of the 14th Judicial District has put two Jury Trial Moratoriums in effect since the beginning of COVID but he feels conditions are safe again to hold jury trials since COVID numbers have gone down, especially since Christmas.
Masking and distancing will still be in place in the courtroom. Jury sizes range from six to 12 people, plus alternates. Judge O’Hara says other cases can still be virtual. (via Webex)
Judge Gardner in Moffat County District Court did have a jury trial scheduled last week but it had to be postponed because of COVID.
